View a document's version history in the backward-compatible document library

Enhanced folders track the version history of each document, monitoring the number of times that you check in, check out, and publish a document.

Showing the version history of a document

View version history

By using the portal

  1. On the navigation bar for the portal site, click Document Library.
  2. From the Document Library page, find the document for which you want to view the version history.
  3. Click Show Actions, and then click Version History.

    The Version History page opens.

  4. To open a specific version of the document, click the version that you want to open from the Document Versions list, and click Open.

    Note  Comments from the check-in form appear in the Comments field.

By using My Network Places

  1. In the backward-compatible document library, right-click the document for which you want to view the version history, and then click Properties.
  2. On the Properties page of the document, click the Versions tab.

    The Document Versions field displays the version history of the document that you selected.

  3. To open a specific version of the document, click the version that you want to open from the Document Versions list, and click View Document.

    To view the document profile for that version, click View Profile.
