Select a document profile in the backward-compatible document library
To use document profiles to restrict the types of documents that users can include in folders, you must select at least one document profile to associate with a folder. You can assign more than one document profile to a folder. When you assign document profiles to a folder, only documents matching those document profiles can be stored in that folder.
Select a document profile
- Right-click the folder to which you want to apply profiles, and then click Properties.
- Click the Profiles tab.
- In the Available document profiles list, select one or more document profiles.
- In the Use the following profile by default for documents in this folder list, select a default document profile. Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 automatically applies this document profile to all documents in the folder unless the user selects a different, valid document profile.
- Click OK.
