Edit multiple document profiles in the backward-compatible document library

Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 associates every document in a backward-compatible document library with a document profile.

Note  When you check in multiple documents, the check-in form appears in bulk edit mode. This means that all the fields on the form are blank. Any information you enter in the document profile is applied to all the documents that you are checking in. If you leave any (or all) fields blank, those fields are not changed on the individual documents.

  1. In the backward-compatible document library, locate the documents for which you want to edit the profiles by using the network place.

Note  If the documents are in an enhanced folder, you must check them out before you can edit their profiles.

  2. Select the documents, right-click one of them, and then click Edit Profile.
  3. A bulk-edit profile form appears. Complete the Version Comments and make any necessary changes to the document profile. SharePoint Portal Server applies this document profile to all the documents that you have selected.
  4. Click OK.
