Delete or rename a folder in the backward-compatible document library

If you are a coordinator on a folder in the backward-compatible document library, you can delete or rename a folder directly from the portal site or from a network place.

Delete or rename a folder from the portal site

  1. On the navigation bar for the portal site, click Document Library.
  2. On the Document Library page, open the folder you want to delete or rename.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To rename the folder, click Rename, type the new name for the folder, and then click Save.
    • To delete the folder, click Delete, and then click OK.

Delete or rename a folder from a network place or Web folder

  1. In the backward-compatible document library, right-click the folder that you want to delete or rename.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • To delete the folder, click Delete, and then click Yes.

      If the folder is an enhanced folder, make sure the folder is empty. You cannot delete an enhanced folder that contains documents.

    • To rename the folder, click Rename, type a new name for the folder, and then press ENTER.
