Configure document profiles for a folder in the backward-compatible document library

You can configure standard or enhanced folders to include document profiles. When you apply document profiles to a folder, only documents with specific document profiles can be stored in that folder. You configure document profile settings by using the Profiles tab on the Properties page for the specific folder.

Specify document profile settings

  1. Locate the folder to which you want to apply a document profile by using the network place for the backward-compatible document library.
  2. Right-click the folder to which you want to apply a document profile, and then click Properties.
  3. Click the Profiles tab.
  4. In the Available document profiles list, select one or more document profiles.
  5. In the Use the following profile by default list, select a default document profile.

Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 applies this profile by default when a user checks in a new document, unless the document already has a valid document profile.

  6. Click OK.

You can apply more than one document profile to a folder. By applying document profiles to a folder, you can restrict the contents of the folder to documents that use those document profiles.
